German tourists top all foreign tourists visiting Turkey in 2011

ANKARA (A.A) - A paradise of sea, sun and sand, Turkey, was the travel destination of 5 million Germans in 2011. According to the figures of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Germans were followed by Russians and British tourists in 2011. A total of 31.5 million tourists visited Turkey in 2011. In 2011, Turkey received 3.4 million Russian tourists and 2.5 million British tourists. 33.27 percent of tourists entered Turkey via Antalya, 25.61 percent via Istanbul and 9.78 percent via Mugla. In December 2011, 1.1 million tourists came to Turkey and most of the tourists entered Turkey via Istanbul.
