Heads of Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan and Court of Cassation of Turkey discuss cooperation issues

Bishkek, Sept. 6, 2021. / Kabar /. An official bilateral meeting of Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan Nurgul Bakirova with the Chairman of the Court of Cassation of Turkey Mehmet Akardzha took place, the press services of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic reported. Ambassador to Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliev took part in the meeting. The sides touched upon the issues of strengthening the interaction of the highest judicial bodies of the two countries. Nurgul Bakirova expressed her gratitude for the invitation to take part in the opening ceremony of the Judicial Year and the International Symposium “Best Practices in the Courts of Appeal”. She also noted the high level of organization of events, a professional approach and a rich program. She especially emphasized the fact that Kyrgyzstan and Turkey are linked by a centuries-old history and culture, and a long history of interaction testifies to the deep ties between peoples, which are even stronger every year. During a bilateral meeting with the Chairman of the Turkish Court of Cassation Mehmet Akardzha, Nurgul Bakirova announced the initiative to create a Council of Chief Justice of the Supreme Courts of Turkic-speaking countries. The Turkish side expressed support for this initiative. In turn, Mehmet Akardzha noted the active participation of Nurgul Bakirova in the work of the International Symposium "Best Practices in the Courts of Appeal" The sides expressed confidence in further interaction and strengthening of ties in order to develop the legal systems of the two countries. Nurgul Bakirova invited her Turkish counterpart to visit Bishkek in order to strengthen interaction and bring cooperation to a qualitatively new level. At the end of the official meeting, the participants expressed confidence in further fruitful cooperation and exchanged memorable gifts.
