Bishkek, Nov. 27, 2020 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s Health Ministry hosted on Thursday a meeting of Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beyshenaliyev with German Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Monika Iwersen, as well as with medical mission of the Charite Berlin Medicine University, Marzinovsky Institute at Sechenov Moscow State Medical University and representatives of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). Leaders of the group are Prof. Dr. Jan Felix Drexler (Charite Berlin) and Prof. Dr. Alexander Lukashev (Marzinovsky Institute Director). According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Health Ministry, the visit of the international experts was funded by Germany. The meeting participants discussed issues related to the training of Kyrgyz laboratory specialists in laboratory diagnostics and protection of laboratory personnel. The experts will support the fight against the coronavirus pandemic through professional exchange of experience with Kyrgyz health care organizations. Besides, 150,000 PCR tests were donated to the Kyrgyz Laboratories. "Today we are witnessing that experienced experts from Germany and Russia came to provide advice to the laboratory services of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health. We are very pleased and hope that, despite the short period of time, your visit will be fruitful and make a significant contribution to the work of the laboratory service. In addition, we are very grateful for the provision of 150,000 PCR tests for laboratory research on COVID-19,” said Health Minister of the republic Beishenaliyev. Germany has so far supplied Kyrgyzstan with personal protective equipment, PCR test consumables and hygiene items. In addition, in early July 2020, the emergency department of the Dzhalal-Abad hospital for the treatment of patients with COVID-19, which was financed by Germany, was put into operation ahead of schedule. In addition, Germany is working to promote health and economic development through bilateral cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.
