Iran goes one step further on UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s rank rose to sixth after getting one boost in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) list of Intangible Cultural Heritage, an Iranian official has announced. Mostafa Pourali, General Director of the Office for Inscription of Properties and Revitalization of ICH and Natural Heritage of Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, told IRNA that Iran was seventh on the list before the boost. After registering its 21st item on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list, Iran was ranked sixth, Pourali underlined. Earlier, Iran was seventh in the world and fourth in Asia regarding its registered intangible items, the official noted.
