Kyrgyz-Chinese border to be closed temporarily

Bishkek, Dec. 28, 2021 . / Kabar / . The Kyrgyz-Chinese state border will be temporarily closed, the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan reported Tuesday. At the initiative of the Chinese side in connection with the celebration of the New Year, Torugart-Avtodorozhnyi and Irkeshtam-Avtodorozhnyi checkpoints, located on the Kyrgyz-Chinese section of the state border, will be temporarily closed on Jan. 1-3 inclusive for the movement of vehicles and cargo. The Torugart-Avtodoroshnyi and Irkeshtam-Avtodorozhnyi checkpoints will resume operation on Jan. 4, 2022, in accordance with a special algorithm that provides only for the movement of vehicles and cargo from China to Kyrgyzstan.
