Kyrgyzstan hosts 6th International Festival of World Epics

Bishkek, Sept. 23, 2021 . / Kabar / . The 6th International Festival of World Epics has begun on Wednesday in the Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek. The festival is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of independence of Kyrgyzstan and the 160th anniversary of great poet of Kyrgyz people Togolok Moldo. The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan reported that the festival was carefully designed to strengthen the self-knowledge of the nation, promote and update the epic heritage at the global level and aim to implement the Decree of Kyrgyz President "On the spiritual and moral development and physical upbringing of the individual”. Deputy Chairwoman of the Cabinet of Ministers Zhyldyz Bakashova made a welcoming speech at the round table "Epic of Manas in the World Culture: Science, Art, Literature". She noted the importance of the event and stressed the need to preserve national culture, traditional and universal spiritual and moral values. The festival is divided into 2 components, each carefully designed to strengthen the nation's self-knowledge and to promote and renew the epic heritage globally. The international festival, established in 2006 by the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic as one of the innovative ways to preserve the world's epic heritage, will run until Sept. 25 and will be accompanied by concerts and national games throughout the event. Representatives from more than 20 countries take part in the event.
