Leaders of SCO states to attend 75th anniversary of WWII victory - diplomat

MOSCOW, January 21. /TASS/. Leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states have preliminarily confirmed their attendance of the celebratory events set to be held on May 9, 2020 in Moscow timed to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Second World War, Russian Special Presidential Representative for SCO Affairs Bakhtiyer Khakimov informed on Tuesday. "I think that all leaders of SCO member states will attend the May 9 celebratory events," he said during a press conference. "At least, they all have been invited, and their preliminary reaction has been confirmed multiple times as positive. Everyone aims to participate," he said. The celebratory events timed to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Second World War will take place on May 9, 2020 in Moscow. Russia has sent invitations to US President Donald Trump, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), as well as a number of European leaders. Leaders of India, Cuba, France, the Czech Republic, Venezuela, Belarus, Armenia, Bulgaria, and Serbia are among those who confirmed their attendance. Read more
