Malayalees Of The World Unite For Future Generations

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 (Bernama) -- The All Malaysia Malayalee Association (AMMA) is to host a symposium, The Global Malayalee 2015 (TGM15), here from Nov 27 to 29. The event is expected to attract 600 business people, corporate figures and entrepreneurs, giving them the opportunity to network in a high-powered business-focused environment, AMMA president Suseela Menon said Wednesday. The first-of-its-kind event will see Malayalees of the world unite to interact, share and appreciate the richness of the Malayalee culture, language and traditions, she said. Suseela Menon said the event would give an opportunity to expand the Malayalee community network by bringing together and celebrating influential Malayalees worldwide. "TGM15 was initiated to support the charitable work of AMMA and the AMMA Foundation. Our focus is to provide educational assistance for underprivileged children and to advance the community. "We hope that the ticket sales and contributions will make a positive impact on our current and future projects," she said in a statement. The event would kick off with a symposium of global achievers and luminaries, including eminent Indian members of parliament, writers, intellectuals and former diplomats, she said. The second day will see Malayalees of global excellence honoured at the TGM Awards Extravaganza, a star-studded night of glamour that would be graced by big names in the Malayalam entertainment industry, Suseela Menon said. There would also be a Kerala festival and open house featuring a traditional Kerala lunch called sadhya, cultural shows and bazaars with art, craft and clothing, she added. -- BERNAMA
