Malaysia International NGO Committed To Helping Muslim Community In Cambodia

KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 (Bernama) -- Concerned about the wellbeing of the Muslim community in Cambodia, Malaysia International Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) remains committed to lending a helping hand through their humanitarian mission which began 18 years ago. Its chairman, Dr Mustapha Ahmad Marican, said various essential items, such as rice, cooking oil and sugar, had been channelled to the Muslim community in the Cambodia, especially those in rural areas, during the month of Ramadan. “I have been personally involved in this programme for the past 18 years, and Alhamdulilah, I have also received the cooperation from local NGOs to make it a success,” he said in a statement. For the first this year, he said he NGO would also organise a breaking of fast event for orphans and the poor in Cambodia. Mustapha also thanked all quarters, especially the generous Malaysians, who had donated and contributed to the success of the charity programme. -- BERNAMA
