Malaysians Excited To Celebrate National Day

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29 (Bernama) -- A strong sense of patriotism can be felt among Malaysians as this year's National Day celebration draws near. Checks by Bernama at the rehearsal of the National Day 2015 celebration saw participants and visitors really excited to be a part of the celebration. About 10,000 participants from various government agencies and private sector, security forces and students will be involved in the event. Hassan Yang Ashaari, 57, was spotted at the rehearsal wearing a shirt made from Jalur Gemilang (national flag) which was made with the help of his wife. "We citizens of this country should be proud of our flag, this year is the second year I am wearing the Jalur Gemilang shirt," he told Bernama. A student, Naezwa Mohd Nasarudin, 16, from SMK Taman Melati, who is participating in a drum performances said that even though she was feeling tired because of the month-long training, she was excited to perform on Aug 31. "We got here before 6am, the rehearsal is expected to finish in the afternoon, we are tired but can't wait to perform our best," she said. Meanwhile, SMK Tinggi Klang student Khairul Izlan Azhar, 16, said the spirit of patriotism need to be inculcated among the young generation. -- BERNAMA
