Newly appointed chairman of Kyrgyz National Bank holds meeting with heads of banks

Bishkek, Oct. 18, 2021 . / Kabar / . Chairman of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan Kubanychbek Bokontayev met in Bishkek with heads of commercial banks and the Union of Banks of Kyrgyzstan. The press service of the financial regulator reported that the meeting discussed current issues of development of the banking sector. Head of the National Bank Bokontayev noted that the economic recovery of Kyrgyzstan is proceeding at a moderate pace, the negative effects of the coronavirus pandemic in the country and region are still a limiting factor, and for the early revival of economic activity it is necessary to continue working to support the real sector of the economy. He also pointed to the need to accelerate the development of the digital infrastructure of banking services, the introduction of innovative banking operations and digital payment technologies while carefully analyzing all related risks.
