It is necessary to create conditions for the uninterrupted implementation of freight traffic between the SCO countries, Acting Prime Minister, First Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Artem Novikov said at the 19th meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states in the format of a video conference. Also, Artem Novikov in his speech paid special attention to the issue of creating conditions for the uninterrupted implementation of freight traffic in compliance with all sanitary and epidemiological requirements and the full functioning of checkpoints. “Kyrgyzstan proposes to consider the possibility of a simplified procedure and procedure for the entry and exit of freight vehicles through checkpoints by expanding the use of green corridor mechanisms in the exchange of goods between countries,” he added. In addition, the acting prime minister noted the importance of the development of digital technologies, including e-commerce, which can become an additional growth point for the recovery of the economies of the SCO countries and the implementation of a full-fledged digital agenda within the organization. Further, he expressed the need to deepen cooperation between the SCO countries in the development of joint cooperation, which in turn will contribute to economic growth, reduce unemployment and improve the well-being of the peoples of the SCO member states. At the end of his speech, Artem Novikov noted that mutual support in difficult times meets common interests and good-neighborly relations. “The most important thing now is the health of the population, the preservation of socio-economic stability and the confidence of our citizens in the future,” concluded the acting prime minister.
