Online flashmob The World Reads Aitmatov continues

Bishkek, Sept. 20, 2018. /Kabar/. Online flashmob The World Reads Aitmatov is continuing, the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Education and Science reported. As reported, among the participants of the campaign were admirers of Chyngyz Aitmatov’s works in Kyrgyzstan, Japan, Russia, Tajikistan, Israel, and other countries. Later in September Georgia also joined the campaign. Artists of A. Griboedov Tbilisi Russian Theatre recited fragments from Chyngyz Aitmatov’s works: The Day Lasts More Than a Hundred Years, The Scaffold, The Girl with the Red Scarf. A passage from the novel The Scaffold was recited in Georgian as well. This campaign was launched by the Kyrgyz Ministry of Education and Science in January of this year within activities dedicated to the 90th anniversary of prominent writer Chyngyz Aitmatov. The goal of the project is to promote the legacy of the great writer. Anyone can participate in the campaign. It is required to video record a fragment from Aitmatov’s work. At the beginning of the video a participant is required to introduce himself, name the country and city he/she studies, lives in, share the video on social media with the hashtag: #Aitmatov#educationkg. Kyrgyzstanis studying abroad are invited to recite a passage in the language of the host country. The campaign will end in December, 2018, by the birthday of the great writer.
