Over 13 thsd from India study in Kyrgyz universities: ambassador

Bishkek, Oct. 11, 2021 . / Kabar / . More than 13 thousand students from India study in universities of Kyrgyzstan, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to India Asein Isayev told Kabar News Agency. He added that many students from India, educated in Kyrgyzstan, occupy leading positions in various companies in their home country. "Thus, an important component in bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and India in the sphere of cultural and humanitarian interaction is cooperation in the field of education. According to the statistics of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Education and Science, as of 2020-2021 academic year, more than 13 thousand Indian students are studying in universities of Kyrgyzstan,” the ambassador noted. Along with this, Isayev said that as part of the visit of Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, a number of documents and proposals are planned to be considered: - signing a memorandum of grant in the social sphere in the amount of $ 1 million 500 thousand; - consideration of the issue of granting a soft loan to Kyrgyzstan for infrastructure projects at the initiative of the Indian side in the amount of $200 million; - delivery of the second Babatron radiotherapy device to Kyrgyzstan for Osh Oncology Center; - the issue of telemedicine development; - support of the Indian side in the field of military equipment. The Ala-Archa state residence in Bishkek is hosting a meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev and India Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
