Russian national travel office Visit Russia opened in Beijing

BEIJING, October 12. /TASS/. An official opening ceremony of the Russian national travel office Visit Russia was held in the China’s capital on Monday. "We are initiating a major program of developing tourism with China. We are cooperating with China for many years but have decided recently that we need continuous and formal presence in Beijing as a travel office," Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Tourism Agency Sergei Korneev said at the ceremony. The decision to open permanent travel offices abroad was made a year ago, Korneev said. Opening of Visit Russia offices contributes to promotion of Russian tourism products, improves confidence in Russia’s tourism services and builds up the national image abroad. Four offices were already opened this year [in Helsinki, Dubai, Berlin and Beijing]. The Visit Russia office will go live in Italy by the year-end. The office in China is one of the most important in view of growing tourism flow from China, Korneev said. Read more
