Russian senators to take part in celebrations to mark Korea Liberation Day in North Korea

MOSCOW, August 7. /TASS/. A delegation of Russia’s Federation Council will pay a visit to North Korea on August 15 and 16, where it will take part in the celebrations to mark Korea’s liberation from the Japanese occupation, vice speaker of the upper house of the Russian parliament Yegeny Bushmin told TASS on Friday. "This is a scheduled trip connected with the celebrations to mark the 70th anniversary of Korea’s liberation from the Japanese occupation. North Korea’s representatives were in Moscow during the celebrations to mark the 70th anniversary of the Victory over Nazism. In response, Russian parliamentarians will take part in the celebrations in North Korea," said the senator who heads the delegation. Russia’s delegation also includes Chairman of the Federation Council’s Budget and Financial Markets Committee Sergey Ryabukhin and member of the Defence and Security Committee Nikolay Savelyev.
