Sadyr Zhaparov: Our sacred duty is to protect heritage of our ancestors

"Let the state awards inspire you and become the best example of serving the homeland for the next generations," Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov said Wednesday at a ceremony to present state awards to distinguished Kyrgyzstanis, his press service reported. Addressing the event participants, the Kyrgyz leader noted that this year Kyrgyzstan celebrates 30 years since the declaration of independence and it is a great honor and responsibility for him to act as the President on such a historic date. "The origins of 30 years of independence go back to the end of the 20th century, but in the early 20th century, Kyrgyz statehood was in danger of disappearing. Thanks to national leaders, it was possible to protect the statehood from the threat of extinction. "Our sacred duty is to protect a heritage of our ancestors, who in turbulent times showed unwavering political will, created statehood, bore the burden of responsibility and paved the way for the country's development," the Kyrgyz leader said. Zhaparov also praised the professionalism of medical workers who were on the front lines in the fight against coronavirus infection, saving patients day and night from the deadly disease. The head of state noted the compatriots present at the ceremony, who made a significant contribution to the development of socio-economic, intellectual potential of the country, science and education, distinguished by great achievements in professional activities, working tirelessly in agriculture, road sector, in the sphere of entrepreneurship and sports. In addition, Sadyr Zhaparov noted the achievements of fellow citizens in the protection of human rights and freedoms. He especially emphasized the contribution of entrepreneurs working in agriculture, industry and tourism, who help the state to create jobs. According to him, entrepreneurs also make a significant contribution to the development of regions. "In conclusion, I would like to express my deep gratitude to our compatriots who, despite the difficulties in gaining independence, worked productively in the areas mentioned, achieved results and benefited society. Once again I congratulate our citizens who received state awards for their worthy work," the president of Kyrgyzstan said. By the Presidential Decree, 189 people were awarded for their significant contribution to the development of socio-economic, intellectual and cultural potential of the Kyrgyz Republic, great achievements in professional activities, for many years of fruitful work, in connection with the 30th anniversary of independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as for other honors. The titles "Kyrgyz Republicsynyn Baatyry" (Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic) were awarded to outstanding statesmen Zhusup Abdrakhmanov and Akmatbek Süyumbayev (posthumously).
