Vietnam to host 2014 Int’l Chemistry Olympiad

HANOI, February 11 (VNA) - Vietnam will host the 46th International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO 2014) from July 20-29, expecting to attract 300 students from 80 countries and territories, according to a member of the organising board. Associate Professor and Doctor Nguyen Van Noi, Rector of the University of Natural Sciences under the Hanoi National University (HNU), has told a VNA reporter that preparations for the event are nearly finished. The official exam questions for both theoretical and practical sessions are being prepared and the purchase of equipment for the practical session will be completed by March, he added. At a meeting of the ICHO 2014’s steering committee held at the HNU from January 8-12, Chairman of the committee, Professor Peter Wothers of Cambridge University, expressed his satisfaction with the host country’s preparations for the event.-VNA
