‘Azerbaijan plays important role in developing Tehran-Moscow ties’

Tehran, November 5, AZERTAC “Azerbaijan plays an important role in developing Tehran-Moscow relations,” director of the Moscow Center for Geopolitical Expertise Valery Korovin said in an interview with Pars Today website. He noted that President Ilham Aliyev's pragmatic policy and Azerbaijan’s favorable geographical location have increased official Baku`s significance in the region. Commenting on the recent summit of the Russian, Azerbaijani and Iranian presidents in Tehran, Korovin pointed out that cooperation with Iran is important to Russia as it is pursuing an active Middle East policy. “Azerbaijan is a key political factor in the development of both political and economic relations between Iran and Russia,” he added.
