‘Most countries cannot even dream of having Iran’s deterrence capability’

TEHRAN,Apr.21(MNA) – Achieving Iran’s level of deterrence capability is an unreachable dream for most countries, the deputy commander of the naval force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said on Sunday. Alireza Tangsiri made the remarks on the sidelines of a ceremony during which a speedboat simulator was unveiled at Amiralmomenin University Complex in Isfahan. On a question about the deterrence power of the IRGC naval force in the Persian Gulf, he said no country can even imagine of invading Iran’s maritime boundaries. Iran’s deterrence capability in general and the defensive power of the IRGC naval force in particular is at a level that enemies do not dare to launch a military attack on the Islamic Republic, he noted. He went on to say that Iran is not seeking enmity or waging war against any country, but will respond to any invasion strongly. The security of the Persian Gulf region is maintained by cooperation of Iran and other neighboring states, he added. He also said currently there are no foreign fleets or pirates in the Persian Gulf.
