‘Rouhani’s meetings with rival groups will prove helpful’

TEHRAN,July 23(MNA) – Reza Akrami, head of the presidential council for cultural affairs, is on the opinion that President Rouhani’s meetings with rival conservative and reformist groups would yield positive results. Akrami said it would be better if conservatives and reformists also hold joint meetings. Recently, President Hassan Rouhani invited conservative and reformist figures to separate iftar parties, evening meals served during the fasting month of Ramadan. Akrami went on to say that cohesion among various parties and groups will help resolve the country’s problems. Elsewhere in his remarks, he said Iranophobia has been reduced around the world, and Tehran has begun boosting its relations with other countries, though the sanctions imposed against the country are still mainly in place.
