“Japan attaches great importance to strategic partnership ties with Mongolia”

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Paying a working visit to the USA to participate in the Fourth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in New York City, the Speaker of parliament Mr Z.Enkhbold Sunday met with Mr Tadamori Oshima, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan. Expressing his satisfaction with meeting with the Mongolian Speaker, Mr Oshima emphasized that Japan attaches a big importance to the strategic partnership ties with Mongolia, and hoped that the bilateral relations will expand. “The visit of Mr Enkhbold to Japan paid last February had a great importance for enhancing the ties between the legislative bodies. The fact that the inter-parliamentary groups at the legislative bodies have been serving as a bridge for the bilateral relations should be mentioned,” Mr Oshima said. He also mentioned that his country’s delegation attended events of the 25th anniversary of the Democratic Revolution of Mongolia. In turn, Mr Enkhbold said he is happy for meeting with the Japan’s Speaker during the World Conference of Speaker in the USA, and then highlighted developing friendly relations and cooperation with Japan is one of the priorities of the Mongolian foreign policy. Mongolia attached a great importance to its strategic partnership ties with Japan, one of the Third Neighbors. “Recent years, the Mongolia-Japan relations and cooperation has deepened, and the mutual trust has strengthened. The establishment of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between our countries has a great importance. I hope that the complementary bilateral economic cooperation will bring into a new volume. I really appreciated the ‘Dynamics’ and ‘Dynamics +’ initiatives made by the Prime Minister of Japan Mr Shinzo Abe,” Mr Enkhbold said. Mr Enkhbold pointed out that Mongolia aspires to attract investments from Japan, to introduce Japanese know-how in accordance with the EPA, to export goods to Japan and to a third country and to join the regional industrial network and the economic relationship. During the meeting, Mr Oshima mentioned about his previous duty of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and then inquired some issues from Mr S.Batbold, head of the Standing committee on environment, food and agriculture about urgent problems faced to the agricultural sector. Present at the meeting were Mr S.Babold, head of the parliamentary Standing committee; Ms Ts.Oyungerel MP; Mr S.Sukhbold, the Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations; and other officials.
