12 Killed In Karachi Violence

Islamabad, Dec 26, IRNA – At least 12 people were killed while two hurt in different incidents of violence on Tuesday in the port city of Karachi, local media reported. According to police information, unidentified miscreants near Moti Mahal targeted the car of Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqui who received injuries while his driver and security guards passed away. Another man near Azeempura stop in Shah Faisal Colony was killed by the firing of miscreants while another sustained injuries. In Orangi Town, three more people were killed. The first incident took place at Furniture Market in Orangi Town No-12 where Hyder Jan was killed while his partner Abdul Hafeez got hurt and shifted to hospital where he succumbed to injuries. Another man was also gunned down in the same area. Besides a disfigured body in bag was found from Old Haji Camp; however it could not be identified. According to police, the victim was shot at head. In another incident, DSP Orangzeb’s son Shahzeb was killed by blind fire in Khayaban Behria, Defense. There is no check in target killing in the metropolis where murder, robbery, extortion and corruption have become routine of daily life./end
