1,204 Non-Iranian Documents Stipulate Persian Gulf: Official

Tehran, May 1, IRNA – Head of Defense Ministry’s Geographical Organization Brigadier General Amir Hossein Nami said that 1,204 out of 1,732 documents (available in the world that emphasize the Persian Gulf name for the waterway in southern Iran) have foreign origin. Brigadier General Nami made the remarks in Tehran on Sunday in a ceremony marking the unveiling the book entitled ‘Persian Gulf Atlas in the Light of Documents’ held on the sidelines of cabinet meeting. “The most important documents and historical maps available in the world with the name Persian Gulf are being kept in British and French museums,” he added. Commenting on the history of Abu Musa island, Brigadier General Nami elaborated on the track record of the presence of British troops in Abu Musa Island./end
