16 Iranian Pilgrims Killed, 44 Injured In Iraqi Explosions

Tehran, June 8, IRNA – A total of 16 Iranians were killed and 44 others injured in Iraqˈs Harouniya region after suicide bombers hit two passenger buses carrying the pilgrims. ˈTwo buses carrying Iranian pilgrims (one belonging to Hamedan provinceˈs Etrat pilgrimage company and another owned by Moheban Ahl-Beit company of Kermanshah) were hit by explosions organized by Baathist and Takfiri groups in Iraqˈs Harouniya region located 60 kilometers from Baghdad on Fridayˈ Director-general of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organizationˈs Shiite Holy Sites Masoud Akhavan said. He noted that Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization coordinated dispatching ambulances and relief teams to the scene of explosions./end
