30 Parliament Speakers To Attend Tehran Conference

Tehran, Feb 18, IRNA – Spokesman for the 9th meeting of Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Kazem Jalali said on Monday that some 30 parliament speakers from Islamic states are to attend the Tehran conference. Speaking to reporters, he said the final statement of the conference will be finalized tonight. The statement will be issued upon confirmation of the participating parliament speakers, he said. This is for the first time that some 30 parliament speakers from different countries take part in the event while in previous meetings the number of participating parliament speakers was below 15, he said. The conference indicates that the Islamic Republic of Iran is not isolated, Jalili said./end
