400th anniversary of Turkey-Netherlands relations to be celebrated next year
THE HAGUE (A.A) - August 16, 2011- Turkish Ambassador in The Hague Ugur Dogan has said that the 400th anniversary of Turkey-Netherlands relations would be celebrated with a series of events next year.
Dogan partook in a fast-breaking hosted by the Dutch Religious Foundation and the Al-Aqsa Mosque in The Hague to mark Muslim people's holy month of Ramadan.
"Dutch authorities are aware of Turkey's and Turkish people's importance. I did not hear any single negative word from Dutch authorities about Turkish people living in this country. They know that Turkish community have made valuable contributions to Dutch society," he said.
"Turkish people came to the Netherlands 50 years ago. But Turkey-Netherlands relations have a history of 400 years. We will celebrate the 400th anniversary of our bilateral relations with a series of events in 2012," the Ambassador added.
