42 Suspects Detained During Targeted Operation In Karachi

Islamabad, April 30, IRNA – Police carried out targeted operation in various areas of Karachi, detaining 42 accused and recovering weapons and explosive material from their possession, local media reported on Monday. Reports quoting Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) West Asif Ijaz, said the police carried out raid at Frontier Colony and apprehended 15 suspects from the area. A car carrying explosives, TT pistols and kalashnikovs was also seized in the raid. SSP East Imran Shaukat said that seven suspects were held during targeted operation in various areas of Landhi. Kalashnikov, riffle, 3 TT pistols and bullets were recovered. The police also seized explosive-laden bike during the operation in Landhi, he added. Ten suspects were detained from Machar Colony area of Sohrab Goth for their alleged affiliation with a banned outfit. In Musharraf Colony, ten suspects were also rounded up in a targeted operation. Weapons and six American-made hand grenades were also recovered during the operation./end
