4th Int’l Seminar On Peaceful Co-existence Among Religions Starts In New Delhi

New Delhi, Mar 4, IRNA – The 4th International Seminar on Peaceful Co-existence with Focus on Religious Symbols in Islam and Indian Religions kicked off Monday at Auditorium Hamdard Archives in Jamia Hamdard University in New Delhi. The two-day (March 3-4) seminar was jointly organized by Al-Mustafa International University (India Branch), Hamdard University and Al-Mustafa Islamic Research Society. The international seminar, highlighting the morality is one of basics for religion and tradition in every society, was attended by the galaxy of dignities including Gholam Ali Haddad-Adel, former Speaker of the Parliament of Iran. Besides Haddad-Adel, Gholamreza Ansari, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to India, Dr. G R Mahdavi, President of the Al-Mustafa International University of Iran, India branch and distinguished religious scholars of all religions also attended the seminar. They were of the view that clashes and moral corruption have grabbed the place of love, sincerity, truthfulness and confidence, those are the basic tenets of all religions. The eminent speakers, in one voice, urged “counteracting” the manipulation of religions for political gains for preserving the unity of the society. Asserting that there is no conflict between Islam and other religions, the speakers stressed that there is a need to highlight basics of ethics of the religions for forming the unity. The seminar was also witnessed by the distinguished academicians, religious scholars and experts from India and Iran, in large numbers./end
