90th Anniversary of DIU, Historic Root of WPK

Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- Ninety years has passed since the formation of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU), the historic root of the Workers' Party of Korea. On October 17, Juche 15 (1926), President Kim Il Sung formed the DIU, the vanguard organization of new type, to open up a new path for the Korean revolution. The formation of the DIU served as a starting point and historic root for building a Juche-type revolutionary party. And its members played a key role in founding the party in Korea. The DIU's programme and principle of independence became the guidelines for the building of the WPK and its activities, and its spirit of anti-imperialist struggle served as the foundation of the WPK's Songun (military-first) politics. Today the WPK has further strengthened into the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist party under the guidance of supreme leader Kim Jong Un who is carrying forward the revolutionary cause of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. The revolutionary cause of Juche, the revolutionary cause of Songun started with the formation of the DIU, will surely emerge victorious under the guidance of the WPK. -0
