Abdullah bin Zayed meets Cuban Foreign Minister

HAVANA, 7th October 2015 (WAM) - Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla and discussed with him ways to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation, especially in the fields of healthcare and renewable energy. The two ministers also exchanged views on regional and international developments, as well as issues of mutual interest. Sheikh Abdullah emphasised the importance of exchanging visits by officials in the two countries to further develop relations between them. Parilla welcomed Sheikh Abdullah and his accompanying delegation and praised the progress made by the UAE in all domains. He expressed his wishes for further growth in the relations between the UAE and Cuba. During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah and Parilla signed an agreement on air transport services between the governments of the UAE and Cuba. Afterwards, Sheikh Abdullah attended a luncheon hosted in his honour by the Cuban Foreign Affairs Minister and was attended by Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Board Chairman of DP World and Badr Abdullah Al Matroushi, UAE Ambassador to Cuba. Sheikh Abdullah arrived yesterday in Cuba and was received by Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister, Rogelio Sierra and a number of officials.
