Abdullah bin Zayed meets UN official

NEW YORK, 1st October (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, has met with Jan Kubis, Special Representative for Iraq and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI). During the meeting, they reviewed and exchanged views on the latest developments in Iraq and shared concerns on multiple issues, especially regarding the efforts being exerted to combat Daesh (ISIL). Kubis was keen on briefing Sheikh Abdullah about his own and the UN's efforts to streamlining the reconciliation process, and restoring stability in the country. Sheikh Abdullah emphasised the UAE's continuous support for the efforts being exerted by the UN to restore stability in Iraq and its natural and vital role in the region.
