Abdullah bin Zayed meets Vice President and Foreign Minister of Panama

PANAMA, 14th February, 2016 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the Vice President and Foreign Minister of Panama, Isabel Saint Malo de Alvarado, have discussed the latest regional and international developments. In the meeting which took place yesterday, the two parties tackled ways of enhancing bilateral ties, particularly in political, tourism and energy field. They also explored the prospects of opening new avenues of joint cooperation in the future. Issues of mutual interest were also discussed. Welcoming the UAE Foreign Minister's visit to Panama, the Vice President of Panama expressed the hope that his visit would contribute to furthering bilateral relations for serving mutual interests of the friendly nations. In a joint press conference with Ms. de Alvarado, Sheikh Abdullah said that the UAE was interested in extending bridges of cooperation with the Republic of Panama and working together to build viable ties that realise mutual interest and benefits of the friendly nations and people. Sheikh Abdullah emphasised the UAE's sincere desire to build vibrant relations with other countries, including Panama, with special interest given to economic, political, trade, energy and investment cooperation through active trade exchange and strengthening business-to-business contacts in the two countries. For her part, the Vice President and Foreign Minister of Panama said, "I would like to thank Sheikh Abdullah for his visit to Panama which underscores the depth of bilateral ties."
