Abdullah bin Zayed receives Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, received yesterday at the ministry, the Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Charles Flanagan. The visit comes within the context of strengthening bilateral co-operation and exchanging experiences between the two sides on a number of issues of common interest. During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah and Flanagan discussed ways to enhance trade, economic co-operation and increase the trade exchange between the two countries. They also discussed co-operation in the fields of education, medicine, aviation and others. The two ministers also exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest at the regional and international levels. Sheikh Abdullah stressed the importance of economic ties between the UAE and Ireland, referring to the need of strengthening this strategic relationship through enhanced framework of co-operation between the two countries. He noted that the two countries possess great opportunities to increase the volume of trade exchange, and called for harnessing the investment opportunities. He welcomed the visit by the Irish minister to the UAE, which he said would further strengthen the existing ties of friendship between the two countries to better serve the both sides.
