Abe, Trump to Discuss Cooperation in Dealing with N. Korea

Washington, April 13 (Jiji Press)--Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and U.S. President Donald Trump will discuss bilateral cooperation in dealing with North Korea at their two-day summit in Florida from Tuesday, a U.S. official said Friday. The two leaders are seen talking about how to strengthen the close bilateral cooperation further ahead of an expected meeting between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, according to the senior official. Trump keeps in mind the issue of Japanese nationals kidnapped by North Korean agents decades ago, the official also said. Other expected topics include bilateral trade and U.S. freedom of navigation operations in South China Sea in response to China's maritime expansion, according to the official. The two leaders are not scheduled to play golf, the official said. END
