Administration is duty bound to serve people: Iranian president

TEHRAN,July 7(MNA) – President Hassan Rouhani said that his administration is duty bound to serve people and it should pave the way for involvement of people in running the country. He made the remarks in an Iftar dinner with administration officials, deputy ministers and heads of subsidiary organizations in Tehran on Saturday. He described the administration as ‘an engine that pushes the system forward’ and said that people’s participation in running the country should be facilitated. Rouhani called on the heads of the executive apparatus to strengthen non-governmental organizations (NGOs), saying that every effort should be made to help NGOs and private sectors serve the people. Elsewhere in his remarks, he said the administration gave the people certain promises including expanding ties with the world, improving the quality of their lives and raising the people’s hope for a better future for their children. It is the people who should judge whether the administration has fulfilled its promises or not, the president added.
