Afghan president to arrive in Tehran on Sun.

TEHRAN, Apr. 19 (MNA) – Afghan President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai will arrive in Tehran by President Rouhani’s invitation. Ashraf Ghani will head a high-profile delegation as his entourage in this two-day visit, Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia-Pacific Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour told reporters on Saturday. Afghan president and accompanying delegation will discuss promotion of bilateral ties and regional as well as international developments. “Mr. Ghani Ahmadzai will arrive in Tehran as part of his regional tour of countries for a two-day visit; we deem it our mission to help Afghan government, and Mr. Ghani Ahmadzai’s meetings with President Rouhani and other officials will seek the same objectives,” deputy-FM added. “With geopolitical position of Afghanistan, withdrawal of foreign forces from the country, and assuming power by Mr. Ahmadzai after Hamid Karzai are important developments in land-locked country; the developments in the Middle East especially in Yemen entails bilateral relations with Afghanistan, since the country is influential in regional security and stability,” Rahmipour told the press.
