Afkham: Iran Following Up Nuclear Talks With Sensitivity

Tehran, May 20, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham on Tuesday described talks with the Group 5+1 as ˈdifficultˈ and ˈcomplicatedˈ saying Tehran is following up the procedure of negotiations with sensitivity. She made the remarks here during her weekly press briefing. Hailing performance of the Iranian negotiating team, Afkham said they acted quite vigilantly and professionally during the talks. The latest round of talks between Iran and world six powers (US, Britain, Russia, France and China plus Germany) better known as the Vienna 4 talks ended in the Austrian capital on May 16. Referring to some of reactions made against the Vienna 4 talks as ˈhastyˈ, the spokeswoman said that the talks were on a ˈnatural course.ˈ ˈIt was predictable from the very beginning that with the progress of the talks, negotiations will become more complicated,ˈ Afkham said. She reiterated Tehranˈs determination to reach a final conclusion with the Group 5+1. ˈIran has a firm will to get a win-win conclusion at the end of the negotiations,ˈ the spokeswoman stressed. She noted that official talks between the two sides have, practically, started since the Vienna 4 and will continue as was mentioned previously./end
