Ahmadinejad To Attend OIC Extraordinary Session In S. Arabia

Tehran, Aug 6, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will attend the extraordinary session of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to be held in Saudi Arabia, it was announced here on Monday. Director General of the international department of the presidential office Mohammadreza Forqani told IRNA on Monday that the president is to take part in the meeting upon the invitation of the Saudi King. He explained that the meeting will be held in Mecca on August 13-14 with participation of the heads of states of the OIC member states. Stressing that Iran has always played an influential role in the OIC, the official said the meeting is to discuss the latest developments in the World of Islam./end
