Ahmadinejad: Iran For Expansion Of Ties With African Countries

Tehran, July 7, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Saturday said that the Islamic Republic of Iran attaches importance to expansion of relations and cooperation with African countries. Among African states, Djibouti is of prime importance for Iran, he said. President Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a meeting with new Djiboutiˈs Ambassador to Tehran Muhammed Dahr Harsi. The new ambassador, for his part thanked the Iranian president for his kind message to Djiboutiˈs government and nation seeking expansion of bilateral ties. Referring to consolidated and brotherly ties between the two countries, he expressed the hope to witness further expansion of relations and cooperation in line with both nationsˈ interests. The new ambassador while submitting his credentials to President Ahmadinejad, lauded the efforts made by the Islamic Republic of Iran for expansion of all-out relations between the two countries. He also appreciated the assistance rendered by the Islamic Republic of Iran for broadening and bolstering of relations with African countries as well as world Muslims./end
