Al-Qusayr Liberation, Response To Zionistsˈ Attacks - Envoy

Damascus, June 11, IRNA – Iranˈs Ambassador to Damascus Mohammad Raouf Sheibani said here Tuesday that liberation of Syriaˈs Al-Qusayr with the help of Syrian people and armed forces was a response to the recent Zionist regimeˈs attacks. Talking to IRNA, Sheibani said the Syrian military forces succeeded to liberate the strategic Al-Qusayr from the armed groups in a short time. As to Iranˈs stand on Syrian developments, the diplomat said Tehran is against any foreign interference in the internal affairs of that country. The Islamic Republic of Iran believes in diplomatic solution for the Syrian crisis, added Sheibani. Today, he said, the terrorists, who call themselves as advocates of rights of the Syrian nation, are serving the interests of the West and the Zionist regime. Iran has been standing by Syrian nation to foil the conspiracies hatched by the bullying system and the Zionist regime against that country which is considered as a pillar of resistance, he said. On recent Tehran meeting on Syria attended by representatives from 40 world states, Sheibani said all participating countries stressed the need to settle the Syrian crisis through diplomacy./end
