Amal Al Qubaisi heads FNC delegation to Austria and Belgium

ABU DHABI, 21st April, 2016 (WAM) -- Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council, FNC, is leading a delegation of the Federal National Council on an official visit to the Republic of Austria and the Kingdom of Belgium from 21st - 29th April, 2016. The FNC delegation includes the members of the Parliamentary Friendship Commission, Abdul Aziz Abdullah Salem Al Zaabi, Second Deputy Speaker of the FNC, Ali Jassim, Afra Al Basti, A'za Suleiman, Saeed Al Rumaithi, Dr. Saeed Al-Mutawa and Dr. Mohamed Al Mahrazi, members of the Council, and Abdulrahman Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs. Dr. Al Qubaisi said that the official visit of the Federal National Council to the Austrian Republic and the Kingdom of Belgium comes in the framework of strengthening cooperation, friendship relations and parliamentary diplomacy between the FNC and the Austrian and Belgian parliaments, and the European Parliament, exchanging experiences and discussing issues of common interest to develop relations with the two parliaments and the two countries in various sectors. Dr. Al Qubaisi said that as part of efforts to boost ties, the delegation will visit the European Parliament headquarters in Brussels and will meet Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament, as well as heads of committees, Parliamentary parties and groups, with an emphasis on women in Parliament. She will also meet with Emiratis who are undergoing medical treatment in Belgium. During the visit, the FNC delegation will discuss the latest developments in the region and the world and discuss a number of issues of common concern, particularly the fight against terrorism and extremism.
