Ambassador Critical Of Media War In Parallel With Military Offensives On Iraq

Tehran, June 25, IRNA – Iraqi Ambassador to Tehran Muhammad Majid al-Sheikh said on Tuesday that the enemies have waged media war in parallel with their military offensive on Iraq. He made the remark in a seminar investigating the threat of terrorism to the global security. He said that the terrorists and Takfiri forces are waging a relentless war against the Iraqi government and nation. Noting that the situation has improved remarkably in Iraq compared to the past, he said some biased media affiliated to terrorists and Takfiris are scattering false and incorrect news stories against Iraqi government to serve their own interests. The ambassador said that the parliamentary election in Iraq strongly persuaded the terrorists that they have no place in the democratic process of the Iraqi community, so they resorted to violence against the Iraqi people. The terror group perpetrated cold-blood crimes against humanity and arbitrary killing of the youth and innocent people shortly after capturing the rural areas./end
