Ambassador: Part Of NAM Final Statement To Focus On Palestine

Tehran, Aug 29, IRNA – Palestinian Ambassador to Tehran Salah al-Zawawi said part of the final statement of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Tehran will certainly focus on the Palestinian issue. The ambassador made the remark here Wednesday while talking to IRNA at the sideline of the NAM meeting. Pointing to the importance of the issue of Palestine for the NAM member states, he said he felt obliged to express his gratitude to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other Iranian officials for hosting the NAM meeting and also for their paying special attention to the issue of Palestine. He further recommended the NAM delegations who are in Iran for the meeting to visit different parts of the country to see Iran’s progresses. The Palestinian ambassador said Iran’s progresses do not belong only to the Iranian nation but the whole Islamic world. He further said there have been some discussions pertaining to Gaza during the meetings and after the arrival of the Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi to Iran for the NAM summit./end
