AMBASSADOR PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO POPE FRANCIS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia's Ambassador appointed to the absolute sovereign Vatican City State Mr V.Purevdorj presented the letter of credence to His Holiness Pope Francis on December 18. The Ambassador conveyed warm greetings of President Ts.Elbegdorj to Pope Francis. The latter received the greetings with a gratitude and replied with wishes for wellness and prosperity to the people of Mongolia. On the occasion of the ceremony, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary H.E. Mr Purevdorj was received by Mr Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See, the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Catholic Church in Rome, Giovanni Angelo Becciu, Substitute of Secretary of State, and by Dominique Mamberti, a Secretary of Vatican responsible for relations with foreign states. The dignitaries discusses relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the Holy See. The Vatican leaders stated their will cooperate and support the continuation of researches for discovering historic evidences, documents and records related to the Great Mongol Empire from Vatican’s archive and library, and to promote pediatricians to have specialized trainings in order to improve the healthcare in Mongolia for mothers and children, to educate young cadres to major in international humanitarian matters and human rights laws through short-term trainings at Vatican’s expenses. The sides also noted that they can cooperate in a settlement of the pressing humanitarian problems in the world.
