Ambassador: We would like to build closer cooperation between AZERTAC and Algerian media

Baku, January 15, AZERTAC “We would like to establish closer cooperation between AZERTAC and Algeria Press Service (APS). I think it's important to conduct exchange of news between the two agencies directly, but not through a third party,” said Ambassador of Algeria to Azerbaijan Salima Abdelhak as she met with Chairman of the Board of AZERTAC Aslan Aslanov. Ambassador Salima Abdelhak said that she receives information about Azerbaijan from the AZERTAC website in Arabic and French, also expressing her satisfaction with the spread of news about Algeria on the agency’s website. During the meeting, initiated by the Embassy of Algeria in Azerbaijan, the issues of implementation of joint projects and providing prompt exchange of information were discussed. It was noted that the establishment of cooperation and exchange of information between AZERTAC and the Algerian media would allow for the spread of more objective and accurate information about the two countries. Aslan Aslanov highlighted the activities of AZERTAC. He pointed to AZERTAC`s growing role on the international arena. “AZERTAC maintains cooperation with the APS news agency within a number of international and regional media organizations, including the Union of OIC News Agencies’ (OIC-UNA). Bringing these relations to the bilateral level, expanding cooperation between the leading news agencies of Azerbaijan and Algeria, conducting mutual exchange of information will be beneficial for both sides,” Aslan Aslanov said. The sides also exchanged views on prospects for cooperation in the field of information, current media development trends and other issues of mutual interest.
