AMIA Case Continues Its Logical Process: FM Spokesman

Tehran, June 18, IRNA - Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Araqchi here Tuesday stressed that investigation on the 1994 AMIA Jewish center blast continues its logical process. Addressing reporters during his weekly press briefing, he referred to agreements reached between Iran and Argentina on the case. He reiterated that as Tehran believed that foreign and Zionist agents were behind the AMIA incident, some tensions were triggered in Iran-Argentina bilateral ties for a while. Thanks to wisdom of the two countries foreign ministers, the case is currently going through a normal process, he noted. On January 27, 2013, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and his Argentinean counterpart, Hector Timerman, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to shed light on the AMIA bombing in Buenos Aires which left 85 people dead. AMIA stands for the Asociacion Mutual Israelita Argentina or the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association./end
