Anti-Daesh Coalition Ineffective: Orthodox Patriarch

Beirut, Oct 8, IRNA - Patriarch Aram Keshishian of Armenian Orthodox Christians has stressed that the so-called coalition against Daesh led by the US has proved inefficient. The patriarch made the remarks in a meeting with the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Fathali. He said that the air attacks by the anti-Daesh Coalition against its rebels' positions in Syria and Iraq were of no positive results. He stressed the need for coordinating and using all political, diplomatic and military potentials of the United Nations' member states to confront the Tekfiri terrorists. He also said that the so-called anti-Daesh Coalition has failed so far to adopt transparent and brave political stands against the terrorist group. Keshishian hailed Iran's efforts to help maintain stability and security in Lebanon and said the domestic situation in the Arab country is presently affected by the overall threat of Daesh. He urged all to join efforts to properly confront the menace./end
