Anti-government protesters continue marching

BANGKOK, January 18 (TNA) - Anti-government protesters continued marching on Bangkok's roads on Saturday, while another group laid siege at the Royal Thai Police headquarters. Despite Friday’s bombing attack which left one anti-government protester killed and 37 others wounded, the anti-government People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) protesters moved from their platforms at Ratchaprasong and Asoke Intersections in the heart of Bangkok and later occupied the Royal Thai Police headquarters, demanding the police to take action in finding the unidentified bomber who hurled the deadly explosive from a deserted building at the protesters while PDRC protesters were marching on Bantadthong Road on Friday afternoon. A 46-year-old male protester later died from severe wounds before dawn on Saturday, while 37 others were wounded in the attack. The bomber has remained at large. The PDRC protesters demanded to see National Police Chief Police General Adul Saengsingkaew, but insisting that they would not intrude inside the Royal Thai Police head office, while a number of anti-riot police were seen taking positions inside to prevent the protesters from moving inside the building. The national police chief did not meet the protesters, while no violence was reported. Another group of protesters, led by PDRC secretary-general Suthep Thaugsuban, who have demanded for the ouster of Caretaker Prime Minister and Defence Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her caretaker administration also moved from their rally site at Pathumwan Intersection and marched along Bangkok's roads, including Bantadthong near Friday's bombing incident.
