Anti-Islam Film, Plot Against Muslims: Religious Pakistani Leader

Islamabad, Sept 15, IRNA -- A religious Pakistani leader says making of anti-Islam film by an American film maker is part of a conspiracy to undermine Muslims. Talking to IRNA Secretary Gnereal Majlis Wehdat Muslemeen (MWM) Raja Nasir Abbas Jaffery strongly condemned the airing of a US made defamatory video clip adding that its objective is to malign the personality of Muslim Prophet Mohammad (P) and 12th Imam, Imam Mehdi. He said that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has taken a very bold stance on the issue and the MWM totally agrees with the opinion of the leader. The MWM leader held the US and Zionists regimes responsible for the film adding that the purpose of making the movie is to hurt sentiments of millions of Muslims across the world. Raja Nasir Abbas Jaffery said that US pastor Terry Jones is behind the movie who has also been involved in desecration of Holy Qur'an. He termed the movie as a blasphemous act and asked the Muslims around the world to protest on Friday to denounce offenses to religion and to the Prophet (P). He urged the Muslims to express solidarity to counter the conspiracy to undermine Muslims. The MWM Secretary General said that Muslims in Iran, Pakistan, Egypt, Libya, Tunis and other Muslim countries have been strongly protesting against the shameful act of the Americans. “The action has hurt the feelings of Muslims,” he added. Raja Nasir Abbas Jaffery said that the MWM will hold country wide protests on Friday against the heinous act. He said that after Friday prayers the MWM would march towards the US Embassy in Islamabad. The MWM leader said that the party will also hold protests in the cities where there are US consulates namely Quetta, Peshawar, Karachi and Lahore. He was of the opinion that basic objective of making such movie is to create misunderstandings among Shia and Sunni Muslims. He urged Muslim clergies to issue a religious decree against the film just like once father and founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (P) had issued against the damned Salman Rushdie./end
